Re: Looking for okra/bamia/bhindi

As Tom said, in any Asian stores.

A couple which I have been to:
- Aggarwal, which in Langstrasse. I think the road is Kernstrasse.
- the Art of food, at Franklinstrasse, which is in the Oerlikon area.
- Or any Maxim's (the one in Affoltern has a good range of exotic stuff).

I am sure I have seen them in Migros/ Coop too!

Hi there, Barkat on Birmensdorferstrasse has okra, we just got some yesterday. They sell the long, thin-skinned kind, they are quite tasty.

This is where I do all my Indian food ingredient shopping. Just off Langstrasse, Kernstrasse 27 to be precise.

If they've run out of fresh okra, there are also packets of frozen whole okra in the freezers.

Is Aggarwal's still open? Google told me they are permanently closed. If not, great tip on the frozen okra.

Yup definitely open. The one that's closed is the shop at the old location: Langstrasse 62.

They are now at Kernstrasse 27, close to Helvetiaplatz.

Go on Thursdays and there's a very good fish counter: snappers, sea bream, blue crab. Basically fish that are used in Asian and African cooking.

I love this store.
