What condiment could you not live without?

Its Friday, its pissing down, I am bored, so thought I would start this thread off.

Mine is Tabasco sauce, I know, I know, there are many great Habanero and hot pepper sauces out there, but there is something special about that vinegary peppery tang, it adds vigour to a Spaghetti with tomato sauce or indeed a Bloody Mary or when your food is feeling a little under-seasoned in the wee hours of the night.

I don't know if this counts because I've never seen it here (I had terrible withdrawal symptoms ), but I used to be addicted to Branston pickle. Mmmmmm

surely the true biological answer is salt ( NaCl) in the right amounts


but in a less boring view : still love salad cream , just run out, finished my last jar of Branston on cheddar cheese on toast for lunch, but recently got into Tabasco.


but let's add HP sauce into the mix,
with on the side true Colman's of Norwich English Mustard

Do fish count as a condiment in their whole form? I suppose you could blend them into a Bloody Mary! Although Oysters are supposed to be quite good for that.

I have seen Branston (and also HP sauce) in some of the bigger Coops in Suisse romande... never seen it on this side of the Röstigraben though.

But yes... a cheese and pickle sandwich without either Branston or Piccalilli is not quite right.

They sell Branston in some COOPs and to my joy they started stocking Geetas Mango chutney.
