Returning beer bottles bought in Germany

Not sure if the correct place, but here it goes:

I've got some empty beer bottles bought at the Marktkauf in Weil am Rhein (Germany). Can I return them there? Also, is it possible to return these bottles in Basel supermarkets (Coop, Migros, Denner, etc)?

Thanks,

Ricardo

Well you can recycle them here. But if you want the money back you'll have to go back to Germany.

Unless you can find a shop here that sells exactly the same beer. You might even get back a bigger depo in CHF than you paid in Euros

Or find a home brewer who'll gladly take them off your hands. If I didn't already have a garage full (and a wife who really doesn't want any more bottles in the place!), I would offer myself :-)

Re: Returning beer bottles bought in Germany

The EF way would be to sell the empty bottles for 10chfs each.

Re: Returning beer bottles bought in Germany

What's the average deposit, these days? ....... about 60 rp?
Probably going to cost more to return, then you'll get back - unless you've got dozens (100s).

Take them to the nearest bottle bank, and be done with it.

Re: Returning beer bottles bought in Germany

Unless you're regularly going back and forth to Germany then you may as well just bin/recycle them here. 8 cent per bottle is hardly worth it considering how much cheaper and tastier it will have been than the average Swiss beer.
