Kangaroo Meat

Hi
Does anyone know where I can order (or buy) Kangaroo meat?
This place has it listed but states that currently no orders are processed: http://www.ostschweizerfleisch.ch/ - The site looks weird so I assume they went out of business.
Cheers

Re: Kangaroo Meat

I've seen Kangaroo at Denner, Aldi and Migros.

It's in the chiller beside other refrigerated vacuum packed meats.

Re: Kangaroo Meat

Lidl had some kangaroo steaks the other week - in the freezer compartment.

My five year old now says that Kangaroo is his favourite meat.

So the consensus of opinion is that the OP should hop on over to Lidl then?

Re: Kangaroo Meat

Thanks guys. Lidl seems a good tip.
Yes horse is nice but nothing beats eating meat that reminds me of home!
Also I found this butcher http://www.metzgereikuenzli.ch/ -> One can order from him, he delivers to Zurich City (they usually deliver to restaurants etc daily so he is around in zurich city anyways every day). I ordered 2 Kilos, was around 50CHF. Cheers

Re: Kangaroo Meat

..and actually there is no Lidl in Zurich (probs too cheap) so that's too much effort if I have to go to the Ghetto areas just to get a kanga-steak

If you just want reminding of the taste of home, why not just go to Co-op and buy a packet of those Tampons, or TimTams or whatever they're called and eat those?

It's never about the taste of the actual food (meat in this case) but the whole event of having mates over for a proper kangaroo barbie.

Really?

Lidl Zuerich
Grubenstrasse 28
8045 Zuerich

Lidl Zuerich Oerlikon
Ohmstrasse 11
8050 Zuerich Oerlikon

Lidl Zuerich
Ueberlandstrasse 381
8051 Zuerich

And that's not including the ones at: Schlieren, Dietikon, Wallisellen and Gattikon.

I think there is one in Oerlikon, close to the train station. But never actually been in the store...

Anyways, looks like you have found a solution. "En guete"

edit: Looks like Medea Fleecestealer was a bit faster...

Re: Kangaroo Meat

I bought and consumed some kangaroo meat once .... and it was off - possibly even contaminated with the kangaroo equivalent of BSC.

Needless to say, it made me hopping mad.

Don't tell me, you ate crocodile once too which was contaminated with the crocodile equivalent of BSC, and it made you really snappy.

Re: Kangaroo Meat

Try the Carnacenter Bachenbuelach

They offer kangaroo, zebra, and many other common meats. Very good selection.
