Any food festival?

Hi everybody,

I was wondering if there are any food festivals/fairs in Switzerland?
I am very interested in showing different types of foods and sweets from my country to everybody here and also have the opportunity to sell them to anybody who is interested.

I will be very glad to here back from you.

Thanks,
Moli (Mohammad)

Hi Moli,

I know about these two in Zürich: Gourmesse and slow-food-market. Additionally you should check if there are any "farmer markets" close by where you live. I'm sure you can present and sell all your foodies there as well. At least it is done here in Zürich Oerlikon on the market on Saturday...

"The Lugano farmers’ market is a wonderful place to scour for local product, flowers, eggs, cheese, cold cuts and preserves. The market is open on the streets in the city center from 7 to 12 on Tuesdays and Fridays."

Re: Any food festival?

There are indeed lots of food fairs, markets, etc, But does anyone know of the regulations, permits, qualifications, etc required to take part? Can anyone join? I have no idea, but knowing the stringent regs for restaurants and other outlets and providers, I am wondering?

If you do get permission and find a venue- post about it here and some of us will probably come and taste your food. Where are you from btw?

Thank you for the question. That's exactly what I wanted to ask after my first question.

Re: Any food festival?

http://www.lugano.ch/cultura-tempo-l...ttimanale.html

"Possono partecipare al Mercato tutti i residenti e domiciliati su territorio elvetico. Non sono tenuti a disporre della licenza di venditori ambulanti (vedi licenza di ambulanti cantonale). Devono per contro essere registrati al Laboratorio cantonale, in particolare se mettono in vendita piatti pronti, conserve, passate, sughi, ecc.."

"All people resident and domiciled and Switzerland can participate. You do not need to possess a travelling sales license. However, you must be registered at the cantonal Laboratory, especially if you sell cooked food, conserves, sauces, etc."

Oh, and you pay for the year, whether you go every week or not.
