Coop @ Home to try out personalised pricing policy

http://www.thelocal.ch/20150720/coop...pricing-policy

Crazy idea if you ask me. Certainly can't see it working in stores. I wouldn't be very happy to see the person in front of me getting a discount on the same item I bought too, just because they visit Coop more often. They'd do better to cut their profit margins and make all the goods cheaper instead.

In-store discounts for certain customers seem to work rather well with loyalty cards, both within Switzerland and the US.

Logical if you ask me.

It is the corporate version of "Mates rates"

Re: Coop @ Home to try out personalised pricing policy

Pretty much a PR own goal for Coop, as the articles in the Schweiz Am Sonntag, Tagi, 20 Min and Blick were highly critical, as were most of the reader comments.

Whether consumer anger will translate into action, though, is anyone's guess...

oo goody. I've posted so much about cycling over to France and Germany to shop, I'm waiting for them to send me their entire stock for free.
