Re: swiss chocolates

How about buying less but very good quality chocolates (cheap = crap when it comes to chocolate, you get what you pay for!) from a proper chocolatier and not from a supermarket?

Re: swiss chocolates

I'd totally agree with that. Artisan chocolatier, and chocolate made with real cocoa butter and the best criollo chocolate beans in the world- and with great technique.

Really interesting place to visit btw- combined with a visit to the Asphalt mines or Maison de l'Absinthe, or walk the Gorges de l'Areuse.

Happy to organise, but we need a group of 15 for the visit:

Most of the Lindt chocolate assortment is quality enough for me...

But of course I wouldn't refuse the handmade chocolate one can find in specialised shops or stores like Manor and Globus.

I certainly agree that some of the best chocolate is from a proper chocolatier. I find that I eat less chocolate at a time when it is really good quality which offsets some of the higher price

For the more mainstream brands, supermarkets are generally a fair bit cheaper than gift shops and airports etc.

One of my favourite chocolate shops in Zürich is the one of Läderach on Bahnhofstrasse...or any othe Läderach as a matter of fact.

Läderach is also my favourite, the fresh chocolate tablets are delicious. I loved it when they opened by Stadelhofen, 500m from where we live...my wallet however is much less enthusiastic.

Re: swiss chocolates

Here is a video about Jacot chocolatier, in Noiraigue (NE).

BTW at the moment our great and cheap favourite is the Lindt 70% with sea salt- the combination is divine suck it very slowly, the slower the better.

Why Manor or Globus? I don't know where you live but on Geneva's High Street, the independent chocolatiers are everywhere to make you dribble with anticipation!

This one in particular gets all my attention and regular custom for a "pick me up"! http://www.philippe-pascoet.ch/site/fr/

Re: swiss chocolates

Lederach simply rocks, you can find it at the beginning of Bahnhofstrasse. Freshly made
