Healthy food

I am planning to visit Lugano for a week.
I am on a restricted diet - no gluten, dairy or yeast.
Please advise me where I can buy gluten free bread, rice cakes etc. Also which restaurants would you recommend for plain good quality food?

Re: Healthy food

Migros for sure and possible Coop have a range of gluten free bread etc. You might have to ask as they are often hard to find, they are in their own section. These are big supermarkets so you should have no problem finding them. But the range is minimal and very expensive and nothing is fresh I believe!

Drogeries are all round Switzerland, as are Reform Haus shops and most seem to sell the Schär brand of gluten-free bread, cakes, biscuits etc.
The bread is definitely the best testing gluten-free bread in Switzerland.

Most of their stuff needs heating first and is pretty unpalatable if you don`t. The rustic bread is okay for sandwiches without heating.
They also do GF museli.

The Co-op own brand gluten-free beer is definitely drinkable if it is well cooled and is better than nothing. I have to drink lots of it as I am worried that they will take it off the shelves if no one buys it.

The Co-op GF cornflakes is great.

Re: Healthy food

Many thanks for your shopping ideas. Very helpful.

Any ideas for restaurants with good plain food accommodating allergies in the Paradiso and Cassarate areas?
