Are we aliens to 'our own' planet then?
Those of us who eat bread are not.

Yes. I found out about it here:

Where all was revealed.

Nutrition is a controversial topic. I've already heard condemnation for each type of food in existence. People tend to pick on some healthy food, and convince themselves into a firm belief why, because there are things that are healthier, or because of some philosophical but unscientific idea (early man didn't eat meat), it must be unhealthy in absolute values.

I'm off for a Frikadella. Yum!
You rewrote my comment in reverse, yet I still agree with you.
I never said I'm one of those healthy food advocates. I eat everything, but in moderation.
I only said I can't maintain a poker face when a friend explains that french fries are very healthy.

Re: I'm in Hospital ... can someone sneak me in some food...

When you are in hospital you have to pay a "Spitalkostenbeitrag"...in my case this was Fr. 15.-- per day in the "Kantonsspital Baden". I requested and I received steamed vegetables, pulses, cold pressed oils, sea salt and avocados 3 times per day. Getting to eat what go's down well contributes to recovery and I didn´t need laxatives etc. like all of my inmates.

Re: I'm in Hospital ... can someone sneak me in some food...

I had open heart surgery done 5 years ago at the University Hospital in Basel. After I was weaned off the intravenous feeders, I was wondering what bland meal would they serve a heart patient... 2 huge cuts of pork chops! , skin on, boiled though with some veggies.

My granny ate crisps and chips roles up in Mother`s Pride until she died.

But popped her clogs at the grand old age of ninety two.

Re: I'm in Hospital ... can someone sneak me in some food...

When I was in hospital last, while recovering from surgery some friends came by with beer. We asked the nurses if I could have some, and they went off to consult the duty doctor. He came by and said "reluctantly, no - it would interact badly with your medication". So my friends enjoyed the beer without me.

I have to thank you for this one. When I was a kid, my dad had a bunch of books from these guys and it filled my imagination with awesome stories about primitive men and aliens. This just took me back 30 years.

Possibly one of the reasons I loved both Stargate and Prometheus. It's a little bit of childhood fun right there!

You don't want sea salt - you want rock salt - unprocessed.

When I was a poor Kenistanian immigrant living in the UK I living in Dagenham, my neighbour was this lovely grandmother but with most appalling dietry habits. She'd knock 10 cans of Stella a day, a bottle of vodka, 40 Bensons and ate nothing but Skips sandwiches and Jaffa cakes.

She lived to the ripe old age of 38.
