Where abouts in Switzerland? How posh? Serving staff or just buffet-help-yourself?

There are of course tons of opportunities to find caterers to fill your needs. Here are a few options to consider:

The Cheese Club
The Pie Shop
Passion Food Catering
xpat xchange listing
google search - zurich catering
self-promotion: Laughing Lemon Food & Wine

Good luck...
Jack

I'm in Buonas, on t'other side of Zugersee from the town. Looking for quite posh - with people to provide canapes, hand stuff around and serve drinks (I gather the Chippendales were in Cham this week, but they were busy so I have to look elsewhere).

Any clues?

OK, was going to recommend Migros platters of nibbles but perhaps not. Shame about the Chippendales, though...

Re: Does anyone know a good catering firm/party planner?

hi Melissa, try googling several search terms like "Comestibles" or "Gourmet" or "catering" combined with Zug like this:

http://www.google.ch/search?hl=de&q=...mestibles&meta=

I suspect lots of the gourmet grocers also offer catering services. Also, I've heard Globus in Zurich is nice. Perhaps you could inquire there if they can come to Zug.

Thanks for the plug Jack - Melissa, I can also seriously vouch for Jack's laughing lemon, I helped at an event he was catering for and I think I eat more of his food than the guests (only joking Jack )

We had Jack and Silvia cater for our 5th wedding anniversary a few years back - we had an open house and got around 50 guests in the end. Everybody loved the Sephardic finger-food that Jack prepared - and our kitchen has never been cleaner before or since!

I am used to catering for my own functions so it was really great to have somebody else take care of making sure guests were fed and watered - all we had to do was enjoy the party.

Cheers,
Nick
