Hi all,

We're now living in Schaffhausen and have heard that Singen, Germany is a good place for megamarkets/grocery shopping!

We are aware of REAL which I understand has taken over Wal-Mart.

Does anyone have any suggestions for grocery shopping or shopping centres?

Around the REAL, there are a whole bunch of shops. We've hit the REAL quite a few times, it's exactly what the WM used to be, they just changed the signs.

Have fun shopping - it's always interesting to see what new things you can find.

Singen is rather small and good to get round. Karlstadt department store(similar to globus) is good just opposite the train station has an indoor car park too, they do a great breakfast upstairs in the restaurant. The main high street and side streets have clothes shops H&M. Muller large pharmacy has good prices and lots of stuff. A woolsworth is on the high street too. We found a supermarket on the outskirts and picked up some food on the way home.

Real is more expensive than Walmart was - but they got Oreos!

For real bargain shopping go to Aldi and/or Lidl.
