Super sausages

Have a look at my super sausage calendar - and tell me which is your favourite??
I can't understand the Swiss preoccupation with Cervelat - horrible pink mushed-up stuff.
The "bio" one is just as bad, but a bit more murky brown in colour - yuk!!
Grilling the things makes them almost palatable.....

My Mama told me never to open attachments on that internet thingy.

I find it a bit heavy and meat / cream-based. Very male cuisine, I think

Sorry if we've annoyed you, Cannut can't think why........isn't there such a thing as a "St. Gallen Stumpe" ??
I think that's a bit like a medium-sized cervelat........

You have hit a big pet-peeve of mine. I always tell the Swiss this joke "in 700 years, you have only come up with 2 kinds of sausages, a red one and a white one". Similarily, only 2 kinds of salad dressings are standard: a red one (italian) and a white one (French). Is it a coincidence that these are the colors of the Swiss flag? Ok, maybe an exageration, but in general still true. Oh, how I long for a Polish sausage! Or a kielbasa! give me a sweet italian or spicy Chorizo!! Or a Münchner Weisswurst with sweet mustard! Honestly, in a Wurst-addicted country like Switzerland, why the lack of variety??

Oh, please don't take it personally - I do quite like the crispy ends of a cervelat when grilled over an open fire (see December), so it's not all bad.

Re: Super sausages

Should anyone have dreams about sausages, look what it says it could mean

Sausage
  • To dream of making sausage, denotes that you will be successful in many undertakings.
  • To eat them, you will have a humble, but pleasant home.

Well, at least Swiss sausages (the two of them) contain meat.............

Does anyone remember the sad old days of pink British "MRM" bangers??
Mechanically-retrieved meat.....mmmm, one of my favourites!!

Oh, and I wouldn't like to tell you what my friend calls the "white" French salad dressing.........ooh er!!
