| | | Peanut Butter Cravings. HELP!
Hi guys,
I'm really craving peanut butter on hot wholemeal toast. Can it be found here? I've looked in Migros, but couldn't find it.
I'd appreciate the German word for it (and if not too much trouble) where in the store you think it usually is.
Thanks in advance!

Yes. It can. I have seen peanut butter in Migros. It's labeled as...Peanut Butter and as I recall, it's usually where the jams and Nutella are sold.
It's also available at the Reformhaus (like Müller) as Erdnussbutter along with all the other nut butters (Mandel, Tahini, etc.).

Migros calls it Erdnussbutter crunchy. It comes in a glass jar with a red lid.
I always keep a jar in the cupboard recipes including satay and dips, and my son loves it on toast, and I'm not American.

While in the States with my daughter at my sister's place I was making some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for her kids, my daughter saw this and asked for one as well. She'd never had one prior to that and I didn't tell her that I didn't like them, she took one bite and nearly gagged on it..!! She yelled out "Oh papa, that's disgusting..!!" I had a good laugh and told her I too didn't like them.
(like father like daughter )

Hi,
You can buy it from any Coop Barney's Best Peanut Butter in smooth or crunchy, 350g jars....Quality USA produce. Not sure of price but reasonable as I am not a flashy shopper!
Enjoy with some jam/confiture there is lots of it around!!!!

Thanks a million, guys!
I'm not an american, nor would I eat PB and Jam (one day someone has to explain that to me, really) But good old extra salty PB on hot toast... *sigh*
I'll go hunting tomorrow. Maybe I'll get lucky and find smooth PB!

We like this one too from coop ..Im not a big peanut butter fan but we seem to eat a lot of this at the moment on freshly buttered bread (washed down with a cup of tea), maybe its because I cant seem to find marmite. ps. if you like your tea strong try the Bio Engagement teabags from Migros (dark blue box). | Quote: | | | | | Hi,

The answer, in addition to the stuff at Migros and Coop, lies here, with our very Swisscath: genuine dutch peanut butter
If she's got any in, I'd strongly recommend it - it's lekker!
EDIT: And her shop's almost in your back garden, too! | | This user would like to thank Dougal's Breakfast for this useful post:

I haven't eaten it in years, but I love the memories.
As an American, I find Nutella disgusting. Maybe Europeans find PB disgusting.

Oh peanut butter and jam is totally smashing! Especially with St. Dalfour's blackcherry jam. Tastes really good in pancakes too - yums! | Quote: | | | | | Thanks a million, guys!

I don't rightly know, to be honest. It just tastes nuttier, somehow... | | The following 2 users would like to thank Dougal's Breakfast for this useful post:

I see from your profile that you're Australian. I really miss Kraft peanut butter: no other brands provide that same hit. You can get it sent to you from various online shops in the UK if you're desperate (it's very expensive). I tend to visit the Australia Shop in Covent Garden every time I head to London so I can stock up on peanut butter, Milo, and some other Aussie chocolatey treats.
My mum sent me some once but it was very expensive. She sent it by sea mail, so by the time it arrived, it was almost past its Best Before date. I just ignored that and kept on eating it until it was finished and I'm still alive. :O)

I am a huge peanut butter fan, but I find the kind sold here is only 80% peanuts and then oils, salt and other stuff.
I liked a brand I could get at home that was 100% peanuts. I have had relatives bring jars over here and still have a little left. I think when I run out, I will attempt to make my own.
I am not American and have not tried peanut butter and jam, my Dad loves it with honey, but I like mine, straight.
I have also seen Marmite in an Asian Grocery store in Weil am Rhein just over the border.
