There might be some business benefit in this man. What do you think that they do this without any motive. But any how the quality of the beer is also perfect.
Personally, I don't think that there is a big difference between German beers and Swiss beers.
I have an interesting story about Drinks of the World. Not going to go on bashing them but let's just say I will NEVER support their financial well being.
You're both wrong - there is a great range of variety in lagers (you can even get a 'meaty' dark lager in Australia that I've known a few people to mistake for an ale) and as for ales, they have a large range as well.
As for the 'no difference between German and Swiss beers', I agree with that in one sense - there is more variety in types of beer, which is not always dependent on its country of origin. So, a dark, malty German ale will be similar to a dark, malty Swiss ale (although sadly, I haven't found any of the latter ... and precious few of the former!).
Oh, and you can get a pretty good variety of wheat beers as well, whoever asked ... You're after "Weissbier" or (less often) "Weizenbier" - if you want it unfiltered, try, "Hefeweissbier". Can get dark or light, as well.
Anybody interested in trying out a wide range of Swiss beers MUST come out to the event in Rapperswil on Sept 25. I've personally driven over 1300 km to pick up beer from 18 different breweries--North, Way South, West and East. We will have the first real Swiss microbrew festival. Met with the brewers and had a great time doing it. Can't wait to celebrate.
For those in the Basel area, I've just read in todays 20min, that the Unser Bier Brewery has just released their new season beer, and it's an English style IPA :
Worth a search and try session I think (it even has a very cool name IMHO)

Thanks for the suggestion. Niederdorf in Zürich is great, it is my all time favorite. I enjoy Niederdorf and Feldschlösschen both in my beautifully double wall glass set that i bought from coffeecakes.com. These wall glasses have been my all tour companions.
