One electric grill is beside the Schiffs-Station Wollishofen, the other one between the Chinese Garden in Seefeld and the Fischerstube

Re: Barbeque season approaching .....

Check this link for general info about grill areas in the city

https://www.stadt-zuerich.ch/ted/de/...im_freien.html

On the same page is a link to "Picknickplätzen & Feuerstellen" - takes you to. a map of Zurich which allows you to blend in the locations of picnic areas with a grilling possibility - icons of tables with flames underneath.

Alternatively why not invest in a portable grill - we have one from Bodum - we use ours in the local park. Once the lid is on again and the grill sealed the charcoal goes out fairly quickly when hometime comes.

Cheers,
Nick

Your poll should state, "charcoal is better but gas keeps peace with the neighbors". Especially when you live on the ground floor..
I love charcoal but I have gas now and the best part...

I can pop onto the balcony and turn it on in 5 seconds. I come back and cook my meat in 10 minutes and turn it off again...

Try that with charcoal...

You can use BBQ every time you cook meat, use it all summer with ease 5 times a week no problem.

Re: Barbeque season approaching .....

For the woody flavor with gas, use a smoker box and your desired kind of wood chips.

Its the BBQer's dilemma. Charcoal flavor vs. gas convenience. I'm with you re: the convenience however. Also means BBQ season never ends at our house; just brush the snow off the top, turn the gas on and voila! Dinner is getting cooked.

Re: Barbeque season approaching .....

Exactly. Our new grill has a smoker box integrated into it and a light so I can grill in the dark.

I'm not overly fond of the taste of charcoal anyway.

I also hate to clean my oven, much rather the grill.

Re: Barbeque season approaching .....

Nearly forgot about this once-in-a-year big BBQ-Party in the middle of Zurich:

Today at 6pm sharp at Bellvue/Sächslüüteplatz, the fire will be lit. Coal should be ready around 7.30-ish. You have to bring your own grill or sausage sticks. Never mind the clowns who think it is a wise idea to ride around the big fire on horses. Also heard that some funny bone has put a snow man on top of the heap. Rumor has that it may contain one or two fire cracker. The tradition is to count the time from 6 till the head explodes. You may bet on the time with your buddies. Loser pays for beer.
