Hello everyone,

does anyone know where in Zurich I can buy this czech alcohol drink? It is called Becherovka and I am told it is only available in Prague but I am sure some store here must carry it.....I hope...

Check in any liquour store... I cannot guarantee that every single shop like COOP will have it but I saw it recently in liquour store near MIGROS in my area... else go to this small liquour store in Zurich HB

I once found something on Ebay.

But liquor stores are as good.

I cannot remember now where it was but I can assure you that I have seen it here in Zurich so look for it

I have not seen it in Switzerland yet, but I am sure it is around. Glad to see someone interested in my homeland goodness, it is quite healthy actually, 71 herbs they say (40% alcohol? not sure).

You can find it all over the Czech land, not only in Prague.

You should also try Czech Fernet Italians started to make in then Czechoslovakia, it took off really well. It is nasty at first, but then it will haunt you down, it is addictive. It was our pre gig band drink, wow we played like gods after a few shots ..

In Bern they carry it in the Loeb department store.

Anyways, this thread reminds me somebody I gotta deliver the Becherovka to, Prof? Where are ya....The gig was awesome. We shall be grateful till the end of our days.

Last time I saw Becherovka liquour on the shleves going for EUR13.00..15.00 it was in Kaufland (Waldshut). I'm sure it is slightly less pricey than at local shops. The best would be to go Chech Rep. for genuine experience

I spent a fun day where they make it, in lovely Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), a few years ago. Surreal town, hundreds of people shuffling around in bathrobes sipping warm spring water from spa cups, like the undead.
