Easter Baking

I would like to do some traditional easter baking, but do not have a clue what is done here in Switzerland..The Czech Easter bun is a hustle, since it needs to be kneeded a lot and then sits and raises, I have very little time now with all my school werk. This year I would like to try sumfin Swiss..Any recipes, anybody? Thanks!

Re: Easter Baking

Whoa!..Perfect. I am off to get supplies, it looks intriguing!

What a great Swiss food blog too, I am thrilled. I was missing some good, tasty Swiss recipe sites in English.

Re: Easter Baking

That's an excellent tart. My husband's aunt makes her own "secret" recipe every year. We all look forward to it!

Re: Easter Baking

Could you pray the secret out of her???? Is it a different spice she uses? Vanila or cinnamon?

Re: Easter Baking

Well, I won't be seeing her until tomorrow. I can try then, but then it wouldn't be a secret any more.

Having said that, I think she uses 1/2 ground almonds and 1/2 ground hazlenuts. Cinammon comes into it too, but just a touch.

On top of that, she is a great cook and cake maker, so it is always a very light and fluffy tart, not stodgy like some of the supermarket versions.
