I think you forget that it takes 10 posts before I can thank. This is my 10th post, thanks will follow | Quote: | | | | | Any chance that you might thank those users who have already given you ideas of where to find what you're looking for, or are we just going to get a string of snippy comments?
MarieZug, for example, has given you some excellent information. You might want to acknowledge that.

| | | Re: where to find these | Quote: | | | | | I still remember it well: I took a dictionary with me everywhere I went; I didn't go shopping with preconceived expectations of what I'd find; I made mistakes; if a shop didn't sell what I was looking for, I went to a different shop; if I couldn't find a shop that sold something I wanted, I ate something else.
I really don't see how it can be difficult to find bread, flour and milk in a civilised western European country, even if one takes the language barrier into account. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | No I just walked up to the milk or cheese, grabbed one that had a pretty wrapper, bought it and if it wasn't what I wanted or tasted like cr@p I didn't buy it again.
And so we all do things in different ways - any surprise?
Dog forbid we should do everything in exactly the same way. Where's the fun then? How would we otherwise exercise our in-built sarcasm-o-meter?

and I could ask the same of all those who like baked beans (never could stand the sight of them)...
Anyway, they have it on Britshop (Cheers, Nicky) so catastrophe averted.

When did this forum become a grocery store help point?` I think you can surely look around at other supermarkets (Coop is not the only one around)
JnJ baby wash? never heard that one before.. but there are plenty of other good brands around..

| | | Re: where to find these | Quote: | | | | | Methinks some of us have forgotten how bewildering it is to uproot and move to a country in which the people speak different languages from yours. I remember the first few times I went to a supermarket, I stood in front of the cheese shelf for 10 minutes and for the life of me, I couldn't decide which cheese I should put in my basket. Do you remember slowly, painstakingly reading all the labels of the milk packaging? Even my German other half mistook Milch Drink for something quite artificially vile.
After a while I was slightly dizzy from examining the array of 'alien' products. It was like Stendahl's Syndrome but over milk, cheese, sugar and flour, I tell ya. | | | | | Yes, i remember that, my Swiss husband had never drank fresh milk before meeting me so he didn`t know what it was, it was nearly a year until i found it here .
OP you can find Heinz beans, and good toast bread you can find in the co-op.
