Frozen Margarita

Hi all,

I thought that this time of year is perfect for sitting outside and have a frozen margarita (I love strawberry).
and all i need is:
triple sec
lime juice
strawberries
some ice and a good tequila

The question is where can i find triple sec in switzerland? and in case you are a margarita fan what lime juice do you use (natural?) or do you have some specific brand in mind?

Cheers and enjoy the good weather while it lasts

You can find triple sec at Ullrich, it is behind Martkplatz. The website is good as well, www.uiirich.ch They are really helpful.

Re: Frozen Margarita

My mouth is watering just thinking about this thread. If you are only making one or two drinks, use fresh squeezed lime juice. If you are making a whole pitcher or blender full, like for a party, use frozen limeade concentrate. (I don't know if they have that in Switzerland, I have never looked for it.)

Also, you can substitute Cointreau for the triple sec if you can't find triple sec. Salut!

Re: Frozen Margarita

Ok, now I see what you are looking for... You want cointreau, is that right?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cointreau - triple sec (I think it is the same, it is just a brand of triple sec)

My husband saw one in Lidl. He is not sure about the price (it should be 9chf or 20chf, but he thinks it is 9chf) He really can not remember the price right now.

Btw: we looove cocktails. In our home I am an expert for "pina colada" and "tequila sunrise" and my husband for "white russian cocktail" and all kinds of margaritas. Oh, and gin tonic. Yummy.

Re: Frozen Margarita

Thanks for your replies,
I will try with cointreu next time

I just had few of them sitting in my balcony, but without the triple sec. After a while they all taste the same, it is perfect for this nice weather

Re: Frozen Margarita

If you want a nice variant, use some frozen mango. I tend to freeze the fruit then I don't have to add so much ice. It loses a bit, I suppose, when you are trying your first one in Switzerland rather than in Cancun.
