| | | Goat Meat
Greetings all,
Would really appreciate if someone could advise me where Goat meat can be bought in and around Zürich.
I understand that if Goat meat is eaten, in Ticino for example, it is normally the kid, baby goat.
I need Goat meat to cook a Curry, so need an older goat.
Any ideas please....
Mods, I did a search and I couldn't find anything

Would it be worth trying suppliers of Halal meat?

You also can get it directly at farmers if you give them a call beforehand. Here are two address lists:
KAG Open Land (post codes can be changed in the dropdown-menu) Culinarium (it didn't always display all results for the goat products when I navigated the website but if you have the time, give it a closer look)
The products you're searching are "Ziegenfleisch" (or "Geissenfleisch") = goat meat and "Gitzi"/"Gitzifleisch" = young goat meat.

I'll check out the market at Bürkliptz next Tuesday. Thanks again.

As goat is not widely eaten here, it's unusual for butchers to have it in all the time, hence call and order some. If Bürkliplatz is no use, try Helvetiaplatz on Tuesdays / Fridays or as Jack mentions, Oerlikon on Saturdays.
Don't forget the milk as a three day marinade...

I dont rem the name of this turkish/lebanese store, but I can tell you how to reach there.. My frnd generally buys from there & makes some abso-bloody-lutely delicious Indian (Mutton) curry
Take the right from Limmatplatz towards Langstrasse, when you reach Denner on your left, take the right turn. Keep left & the first turkish/lebanese store you spot (with vegetables on display outside) is your store.

- Take right from Limmatplatz towards Langstrassse, do you mean actually go to Langstrasse?
- Is the Denner on Langstrasse?
- When I reach the Denner on the left, do I take the opposite road on the right?
Sorry, I'm terrible at directions! Thanks again.

Me also terrible at giving directions | | This user would like to thank Hi2All for this useful post: | |

I'm using the bony bits tonight for curry, I'll try a kebab on the BBQ at the weekend (if it does stop raining) and then slow roast the legs next week.
