Re: Jelly [Jello] - where can I find some?

Late to the party here but I just made a very yummy jell-o using a pack of gelatin from Coop (Dr. Oetker's, in the baking section) and some raspberry syrup (aka sirup here, squash in the UK, in the soft drinks section). Soak gelatin sheets in cold water for 5 minutes, shake them off a little, then add them to a 4:1 mixture of syrup and boiling water. They have tons of syrup flavors so opportunities abound.

Re: Jelly [Jello] - where can I find some?

Hi the Coop on Rue Saint-Laurent, Lausanne has a very small English section. In it you will find Hartley's Jelly. I bought some strawberry flavour there this week. There were one or two other flavours too.

Re: Jelly [Jello] - where can I find some?

Given that this and the other few threads on jello are pretty old, I just wanted to let everyone know who goes searching for jello will NOT find them in the places suggested in Zurich.

It's no longer sold at El Maiz, Globus, or Jelmoli in Zurich. I went to all of these stores, and nada :P

However, I did find it at a local market in Bern called "Merdan" (http://www.merdan.ch/). It's not the typical Jello brand. I didn't end up buying it so I can't confirm whether it's good or not, but it can't be too hard to mess up Jello I thought I'd share my knowledge since it cost me a couple of hours of my life

Re: Jelly [Jello] - where can I find some?

Why would you like to buy it? It tastes like loundry detergent.

I can bring some from Poland next time I go if anyone needs good jello although it is not the same product. You mix it with hot water and wait until it sets so it is same provedure but tastes better, more natural and fruity.
Look up Galaretka and tell me if you need some.

Re: Jelly [Jello] - where can I find some?

You should be able to find it in any Portuguese shop (of which there are plenty around these parts) as jelly is also popular (well, in the same way as it is in England) in Portugal.

Check out some of the Mexican/Indian shops on Josefstrasse near HB and Langstrasse, I usually have good luck there.
