Does anyone know if Chianina beef is available from anywhere in Zürich?

Hmm, you may want to try the butcher in Jelmoli.

Otherwise you'll have to make a trip to Grande Boucherie du Molard in Geneva. Be prepared to leave your first born as payment.

Go to the Oerlikon market on Saturday (or Helvetiaplatz on Friday) and look for the vendor Fiechter (pretty much in front of the Orange store in a red and white truck). They often have bistecca alla fiorentina on hand...although I can't be certain it's from the Chianina breed.

Re: Chianina Beef

We order it from Merat. They are meat wholesalers that cover Switzerland. If you contact them I'm sure they can tell you where to by it retail. It's not cheap though...
