Re: Chocolate Help!

This is the first time I've heard of Betty Crocker mix, but when you look at the list of ingredients it is a) very long and b) there are some dubious ingredients there (hydrogenised fat, palm oil, artificial flavouring, to name a few).

My point it: it is a blessing that you ran out of this mix. Brownies can be easily made from the finest and fewest possible ingredients. As far as chocolate is concerned, try Lindt Excellence 70% or Villars Noir 72% or Cailler Cacao Extreme 74% and you won't go wrong.

Re: Chocolate Help!

I'm going to assume bitter sweet chocolate is Zartbitter schokolade, but semi sweet I'm still a bit puzzled. I need both for the recipe and then again I'll need the semi sweet for chocolate chip cookies.

Betty's fudgy brownies are good as long as one doesnt read the label Plus it takes 3 minutes to make and put into a pan

Re: Chocolate Help!

I've used Cremant and other supermarket brands of dark chocolate. They all worked fine for both brownies and (chopped up) choc chip cookies.

Here are two excellent and easy brownie recipes:

P.S. They only take 5 minutes to make and put in the oven.

Not sure how bad you want the betty crocker brownie mix - but there is a website that sells it here in Switzerland (Geneva) they sell lots of American food.

They actually even have the better crocker brownie mix for 6.95Fr

For the best bitter sweet chocolate you ought to look for Venezuelan chocolate.... yum!!! And you can find it in any big coop.
