Chäs & Co really know their stuff, they are wholesalers of cheese to some of the best food shops and restaurants in the Zürich area. The British cheese stall will be run by our friends at Neals Yard in London (Chäs & co are their agents here) - I was hoping to attend but we have another event this weekend.
Re Swiss cheeses, look out for their outstanding Blaues Wünder - a softish BIO blue cheese from Emmental (surprise your Swiss friends with this, very few know of this marvel), and their Burg cheeses from Graubunden - Andeerer Gourmet is one I remember, as well as San Carlo from San Bernadino - both fantastic. They also have some great sheep and goat cheeses from Toggenburg as well as some delicious Italian cheeses.
I wish I was going now

"Real" cheese and Aldi cheese is like comparing a Ferrari with a Fiat Uno.
You don't have to go if you don't feel - or feel like going to Migros, Aldi or Lidl. Simple as that.
I went and found real excellent choices of cheese and more.
You missed something

The cheese that was on offer Sunday was what I call real cheese, made in small quantities on small farms with milk from their own animals. The cheese will vary month by month as the weather, and therefore the milk, changes - something that the supermarkets do not want, they want standardised, factory made cheese that tastes and looks the same all year round. A lot of people, and you seem to be one of them, are happy with that. A small number of us are not.
The event was free entry and there was no pressure to buy at all - in fact, the event was actually designed so the cheese makers and customers could meet. You could also try all of the cheeses until you exploded.
If you really are a gourmand, you did indeed miss a treat.

I agree!!! I was there I had a good opportunity to test wide variety of cheese!!(though I am not aware of the names and types and pecularity of a particular cheese, I could definitely taste the difference!!)
