Lindt & Sprungli are located in Kilchberg which is only 20 km away from Zug.They have a shop at the factory (which is east to find, its in Klichberg along the lake). Maybe you can ask there to talk to a manager and get a discount on your 20 kg ?

good luck !

Saturdays and Sundays are closed, so probably you need to go on a weekday.
Heres some detail for you

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

You can visit Cailler, but do not expect to get very close to areas where chocolate is actually produced. There is a tour for visitors and you can eat as much chocolate as you like at some point.

http://main.cailler.ch/en/vis/default.asp

edit: FAIL. They are indeed closed. Fortunately, the website does say so.

You can visit Schoggiland in Flawil. They have guided tours.

The funny thing is that Lindt chocolates are cheaper in Spain than in Switzerland.

DON'T VISIT Cailler!!!

We tried to take visitors there last week.

When we arrived we discovered it had closed the week before for refurbishment. It will re-open in April 2010

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

I really wouldn't waste your time travelling to the factory hoping for a discount on 20kg of chocolate. With the volume they sell, 20kg simply doesn't count as bulk. If you wanted 100kg then maybe you would have some leverage.

Cheers

I agree they're unlikely to get an additional discount... but the factory outlet is [rumored to be] significantly cheaper than Coop even for small quantities, so might be worth the trip if they're in Zürich anyway.

If you're stuck with buying from a supermarket, then check Denner too. They used to be a lot cheaper than Coop for Lindt.

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

I know this will probably not help the OP immediately, but for everyone who travels to the BeNeLux (or potentially the UK over France) by car:

There is a huge outlet shopping center in Zweibrücken, Germany, which has a Lindt shop that sells in large packages. I paid around 4 Euros for a pack of 6 bars (150g each), so just CHF 1 per bar. Those were the originally packaged, "a quality" things.

Huge transparent bags of pralinees ("b quality": not in the original package) were far cheaper but did not look nice as presents... As Swiss chocolates have become our default present for family visits in Asia, we will stock up there next time.

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

I am unsure if you are looking for finished lindt chocolate bars & truffles....or if you are looking for their chocolate to make your own confections. If you are looking for the latter you can try to order from Pistor (www.pistor.ch) which is the main restaurant/pâtisserie wholesaler in Switzerland. Keep in mind, however, that you will need to open an account and meet the minimum ordering requirement.

Cheers,
Rebecca

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

There's Felchlin chocolate located in Schwyz. They usually sell only to businesses but they have an outlet factory. You get a discount of 5% with a SFr. 100 purchase. It where I buy my chocolate chips. The chips are a bit smaller than the US kind but they are delicious.

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

Hi,
i happen to work at Lindt & Sprüngli, hence I can give you some "first hand" info

Lindt factory outlet:
I beleive you will get the best deal in the Factory Outlet in CH, open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.

Bulk Chocolates:
some pralines are sold in bulk, and you can also find products in the assortment on bargain price due to:
- recipe changes
- package material problems etc.
Otherwise you can buy all the product in the outlet that you normally have in Switzerland. These are the real deals in the store (e.g 1 CHF/ 100g tablet... )

Discount:
do not expect any further discount even if you buy 20 kgs.

Seasonal store:
During seasons (XMAS and Easter) there is an additional store for seasonal items. The xmas one is going to open on the 9th of November, and it is open on the last 3-4 Saturdays before XMAS as well.

Factory visit:
the factory is not open to public, factory visit is not possible.

cheers,

Re: chocolates bulk buying - mainly lindt

one correction:
I was a bit misleading: the real deals are the ones with recipe changes, wrapper changes. The example of 1 CHF/ tablet was for such a product.
