Migros in Zurich HB open till 10pm from November

Might be of interest to people working late or finishing partying early.

The store is tiny and is a horrible place to shop, but as of yesterday the Migros in Zurich HB is open till 10pm Monday to Saturday (9pm Saturday).

Not sure about other cities.

it would be really good news if they were stocking up on booze too

It is such an unattractive place; it s not the size but somehow it s soooo dull

Migros at Basel SBB: Open every day until 10:00 pm! And yes, it's crowded there, too.

More importantly: Coop at Bahnhofsbrücke is open till 10pm too!
And has booze, and has a much larger selection, more generous layout!

I would know, I only live 2 minutes away from it.

There is a second Migros shop just a few meters towards Landesmuseum which also will be open till 10pm. While the "tiny" and packed one is concentrating onto food, the other is for a wide field of stuff, including office material, textiles, etc.

And of course, let's not forget the reburbished Coop on Bahnhofbrücke, which not only is spacious and attractive generally but also offers lots of alcoholic beverages.

For booze you have to go to the beer-shop just beside the larger Migros, as Migros is non-alcoholic.

If you wish to buy good wines in a Migros, you have to go to Istanbul into the Migros-Türk supermarket near Yesilköy Airport !

Certainly no coincidence there. Agreed about the unpleasantness of the HB Migros. I think it's the low ceilings and overcrowding of both merchandise and customers

I believe the Coop at the bridge remains open till 10 also on Saturdays.

now all Coop needs is some tunneling to the HB to grant Sunday privileges.

Oh that's cool, bigger place (but with bigger queues sometimes :-) )
Much more preferable (if it's not raining).
Didn't realise it was open so late, must be fairly recent.

The Co-op at Stadelhofen is open on Sundays. A bit pokey, but certainly larger than the HB Migros.

Off Topic but this talk of Migros reminds me of one of the comedians who came to Funny Laundry in Zurich.
He asked a member of the audience who he worked for. "Migros", came the reply and the comedian dumbfounded said, "What!.....Negros?"
