Hello,

We need to buy for a party four large "wheels" / "rounds" of different types of Swiss cheese. So far the quotes in Zurich have been pretty pricey - can anyone recommend a good and reasonably priced cheese shop in and around Zurich (max an hour or so drive away).

ahh just opened my eyes and saw "Swiss" cheese specified. Ignore my post.

Try visiting some of the local markets and negotiate but really you might get the best price from Co-op or Migro. Our local Co-op in Sargans sells local cheeses at very reasonable prices, 25 - 30 chufs a kilo. A wholesaler I know in Zurich hasn't anything as cheap as that.
