i am looking for large papayas
(like the ones you get in S.America or in S.E Asia).
not the small baby ones you get in Migros.
anyone know if they exist here? I am in Zurich.

I've seen them before in several locations. Sometimes you can find them at the fresh food market (if you hunt around). Try Helvetiaplatz on Friday - you can get a list of market locations/times by visiting this link: http://laughinglemon.ch/en/reference.htm
You can also try some of the larger Asian markets - specifically on the Langstrasse or Berninaplatz...

hottingerplatz fruit and vegetable market - just down the hill from the tram stop. Definitely had several nice ones to choose from when we were there last week...  |

There is an excellent Thai shop quite close to the Hauptbahnhof and they sell the large Papaya.
I bought some there to make Som Tam Salad . . . . lovely.
It's on Toll Strasse/Josef Strasse
