| | | Beef Jerky - Swiss and mail order Traitafina will ship it to your door at a reasonable price.
I've tried it and it's not bad. And it's from a renewable source
The prices they quote include free delivery in Switzerland.
If you buy it, come back and rate it. Give some background. Boxman - helping people in Switzerland with their munchies since 2009 |

I had some beef jerky from a petrol station shop recently, imported from the US, different flavours. I tried chilli, wasn't very good and artificially flavoured it seemed. But I've now seen it at several petrol stations, I'd look there first.

Years ago I was told that a butcher's shop in Chur makes beef jerky, American style, but I don't know any details. I prefer the Appenzell version, a.k.a. Mostbröckli.

We love beef jerky, and sometimes buy it from our gym. Today (incredible timing), I saw it in Coop, and it is their own brand...and it is pretty good.
I think I paid 5.40chf for 50g, so not such a deal. Especially since the stuff imported from the US is the same price.

Wow...22.50chf for 50g?!? Did i miss something? I thought 5.40chf was high and I get it for 30% of the price in the US.

fduvall | | | | | Considering the fact that raw beef is more than 10 times cheaper in the USA, 30% of the Swiss price is still pretty stout. I think jerky is the most expensive way to buy cheap beef in the USA.

We've been picking up beef jerky at Manor, they have a variety of flavors including some flavored with Alpen / Appenzell herbs. That one is very tasty!

I've had it from various stores in Switzerland over the last 4 years, but mostly petrol stations (as mentioned above, they do have it in coop too). Unfortunately, I find that it's not very good - somehow, it seems a lot stringier than the stuff back in the US. Then again, it's been 4 years since I've been there, so my memory might be a bit colored... |

I also prefer beef jerky to be a tad spicy but the Swiss Beef Jerky has no punch to it at all.

Today I bought some beef jerky from the Migros. It was marked as a new product. I really enjoyed it, but I am not from the US, so far from an expert.

I had some of the Coop Swiss beef jerky.... what a waste of 6 chfs, like a greasy lino tile, I'll be sticking to the proper US stuff.

I just saw it in COOP in the "Fleischkonserven" area. It's not the bio stuff (don't really like that one).
As far as I'm concerned, that's what I call REAL JERKY!!! The way I know it from Canada!
Price is 5.80 for 50g which is pretty good for swiss pricing.
