| | | Breakfast habits - pls share what you eat
Dear EF users,
I was wondering what the breakfast eating habits of EF users are?
Every week we have "office breakfast" --> always another member of the team prepares food for the whole team.
I was surprised on the eating habits of many of my colleagues, and it made me curious. Lots of the them prefers jam + white bread, rather than what I like: lots of fresh veg, fruits, fresh juice, whole grain bread, cheese, ham, or birchermuesli.
My round is approaching and I plan to make something new. I know I could bring the usual stuff, which I might end up doing, nevertheless I would be interested in:
- what you have for breakfast on a normal day
- what your ideal breakfast of your choice would be -excluding hot meals.
thanks for sharing,
cheers

its usually fruits (berries!) with cereal and milk or a gipfeli, with a steaming hot mug of black coffee.
If I have the metabolism of a 12 year old, it would be a full English breakfast or dim-sum anyday. nom nom nom.
EDIT: Mathnut, snap!

I think today might just be the day that the English Forum jumped the shark. But since you ask: A banana, a packet of cooked meat and a schale. | | The following 3 users would like to thank Dougal's Breakfast for this useful post: | |

Coffee and cereal/toast (at home) , or coffe, OJ and a pastry (when I get to work)
But I think you should cook them a whole English Fry-up and see how they react.

usually toast with cheese and tomatoe. Sometimes with gravlax (salted salmon, freshly prepared the previous evening), with avocado or cucumber. Sometimes porridge (oatmeal) but this has to be with salt and butter as well. Omelette on Sundays maybe. And coffee.
My French other half eats toast with jam and/or honey.

English crumpets (smuggled in weekly in my husband's suitcase) with butter and Marmite and bucket loads of PG tips.
When I am feeling really down I make blueberry, buckwheat and mixed nut pancakes and have them with crispy bacon and maple syrup... and bucket loads of PG tips |

I always eat breakfast unless I get out of bed after 10. Then it's brunch.
Usually one poached egg on bread and something to drink -coffee, tea, whatever. Sometimes fresh squeezed oj if I'm in the mood to do it.
This morning I had oatmeal with butter and salt and a dash of cinnamon, and a latte
Fave breakfasts - "mexican" omelet with American breakfast sausage, monterrey jack cheese, jalapenos and green sauce with a flour tortilla
smoked salmon on pumpernickel or marble rye with a little cream cheese. Hmmm hmmm hmmmm.

Oh, back to the main point of the OPs post... Just wanted to let you know what I used to do for breakfast for my students in Germany. Buy/Boil some hard boiled eggs, buy various buns and croissants from the local bakery. Pick up some butter, jam, nutella, cheese, coldcuts etc. and some apple juice/orange juice at the store. They were usually quite happy with that.
