. | | | | | I believe one of the first ships fitted with refrigeration equipment was from New Zealand, and was specifically made for the transport of meat long distance.
On the frozen/fresh thing, I worked for years as a kid for 'fresh seafood' merchants. We were literally on the docks, and got loads of fish right of the boats, some still breathing. But, we also sold certain specialty fish that were caught far at sea, dressed, flash frozen at extremely low temp and delivered usually within 48 hours of being frozen. We sold this, thawed, as 'fresh', and I believe it was entirely on the up and up to do so.

Funny, eh?

Thank you for all your interesting replies, after I have picked myself up from the floor (not food poisoning but laughter) I am just a bit confused.
So I am to check the life insurance for my husband and chuck the lot down the toilet but heaven forbid no flushing after 11 o'clock.
I loved the video about the Salmon Mousse, very apt!

So how did this episode end Monika? You're obviously still alive. Is your husband still alive too?

Funny, eh? | | | | | So true. Even Frisch Fish has more frozen fish than fresh fish. Here i'd prefer frozen prawns that I defrost property 1 hour before cooking than supermarket "fresh" prawns. Same goes for fish.
I've never smelt fishy fish until I got some so called fresh salmon from Migros. Fish should smell like sea water and nothing else.
