Can anyone here recommend a place to buy gin in/around Zurich? I'm looking for Hendricks and others to try. Someone suggested Denner, but the two Denners close to me have no gin :-(

If you're after the Hendricks, I am pretty sure that Coop stock them as well... maybe give them a try.

Yep COOP has it, Hendricks with tonic, a slice of cucumber and a little grind of black pepper = heaven.

Which Coop? My local Coop (which is pretty big) has only Bombay Sapphire and some other cheaper stuff.

I discovered the add of the twist of pepper when drinking at the Viadukt; it really makes a difference. Hendricks is now my gin of choice.

Its definitely at Jelmoli underneath in the wine shop there in Zurich.

Not really a Hendricks fan. I completely agree that different gins are good for different drinks.

I like bombay sapphire with just ice and a squeeze of lemon. Lately I've had Gin and Tonics with Tanqueray with a splash of limoncello (having one right now). For martinis there was a very junipery gin I used to buy in the states from Oregon.. that juniper went so well with the olive - so much so that I liked it slightly dirty. Anyone have any recommendations for a strong juniper/pine gin available in this area?

Another favorite gin drink of mine is a gin smash which is a little bit of sugar and a lot of muddled mint - I'll have to experiment to see which gin is best there - I used to use the juniper gin for those as well.

Have yet to try tanqueray 10... its hard enough for me to find normal tanqueray around nyon - I usually get my supply by asking people to pick one up from the duty free in the Geneva airport

I tried a bottle of Beefeaters and didn't really care for it as it tastes like cologne... I prefer Cognac or brandy.
