Re: cranberry juice

Which variation of juice is the best for my Scarlett O'Hara during today's rugby game? Or should I be gone with the wind ...

Re: cranberry juice

I'd go for the Ocean Spray just because it's what I know best with that sort of drink. Isn't that kind of a girly drink (Scarlet O'Hara) for a manly sport??

Psst ... trying to find alternative to SoCo because the latter contains too much sugar and OH doesn't allow spirits

Re: cranberry juice

Allnatura (migros and some allnatura stores) has an unsweetened cranberry concentrate. I mix it with bubbly water and a little sugar. At least, I think it's concentrate.

Farmer - Landi - 1.48 per liter.
Sold as a 4-pack. Nice tart taste, sweet enough without being too sweet, and the best value for taste, imo

Perfect timing, as I was just about to post a cranberry juice thread.

The local Getrankmarkt no longer stocks the 'old style' Ocean Spray, they have switched to Michel which to me is even sweeter than the OS. So I've been looking for alternatives. (Can't live without my cranberry juice.)

The OS available in Coop is different, I see it is now mixed with carrot juice and even sweeter than the 'old style' juice.

Coop Natura makes a Preiselbeeren Nectar that is quite good, not very sweet - but at a horror price.

I'll give Landi Farmer a try. (I've like most of the Farmer products I've tried.)

Thanks for the tip!

Is cranberry juice something you can find here easily? Admitedly i never looked too hard, but i never noticed it around either.

Whoa, you still remember what you ate in 1965

Not even my mom was born yet

You always remind me of my maternal great-grandfather and his Swiss stories of the '40s and '50s.

cranberry juice

Preiselbeeren grow on trees or bushes, if I remember correctly and cranberries grow in bogs. I don't believe they are exactly the same. I've seen Preiselbeeren referred to as "mountain cranberries". Fresh ones look rather different from cranberries.

Cranberry translates to Preiselbeer in my online translating program, but I agree they are not quite the same. Pretty close in taste, though.

Re: cranberry juice

Ive got them growing next to each other, along with some blueberry bushes. They all like acid soils.

Preiselbeeren are small shrubs, about 30cm high.

Cranberry (Moosbeere in German) are a spreading groundcover.

Re: cranberry juice

Nice post - great feedback.

Here's one more for your list...
Eden Cranberry Muttersaft is available at the Reformhäser.

Soon the fresh will be available in Switzerland - harvest has begun in the US. Make-your-own with fresh is easy, fun and rather tasty...truly tart and tangy , so it might be good to try in carbonated water, mixed with other juices or mixed with vodka, or prosecco...

Research supports cranberries as having properties that prevent bacterial adhesion (UT, etc.) more than support for treatment...

Re: cranberry juice

Brother and me loved to escape to Grandmum from the feared outbursts of Anger of Mum and enjoyed the products of her berries. Well, Grandmum was born in 1882, Mum in 1918 and brother in 1948
