I want a capon

I searched, but couldn't find any leads. Does anyone know where I can get a capon, preferably fresh for Christmas.

I'm in Bern, but don't care if I have to go somewhere else (well, within an hour or two) to get it.

Yep, it's true. France has loads of them in the run-up to Christmas. Any big French supermarket should have them, no need to pre-order.
