Well I did a quick search and not found anything at all on this fine sport.

Any fans out there? Having been raised in the Rugby Heartland that is the 5 towns area of Yorkshire, boasting teams such as Castleford Tigers, Featherstone Rovers and Wakefield Trinity (I refuse to call them Wildcats) I'm a big fan of this.

Got a couple of friends who play professionally and semi-professionally, I never had the physical capability for it though (e.g. I got the s**t kicked out of me, and was too small to tackle anything )

I follow the teams who my mates play for, but have no real burning affiliation to any particular team - except that I hate Wigan, who are after all the Man Utd of Rugby League and therefore only have "glory" fans.

So, anyone out there into their Rugby League? And more importantly, do any of the "usual suspects" of the Lion, Nelsons, Paddy's etc show the live games on Sky?!

Remember a few years back the league winners of the RFU played the winners of the RFL twice, once using each code? Do I remember rightly that the RFL beat the RFU both times? I think that was back when the RFU was associated with overweight public school types but still ......

Reminds me of the time a few years back when a rugby team invited a couple of American football players to join in a game - without any body armour. Needless to say they really went for them in a big way!

Yeah the RFL did beat the RFU quite solidly as I recall. Wish I'd caught the American Footballers in a game of rugby though (!)

It's a testament to American perception of the sport that on Jackass, inbetween being attacked by bulls and crocodiles etc, Johnny Knoxville daringly trained with *gasp* a rugby team.

Born and raised in Argentina, so I do try to follow the league as often as possible. Not that they EVER show a UAR game down here, but I Slingbox as much as possible when the timing allows. More often than not the games are Fridays and Saturdays at way past midnight.

Being a fellow northerner and a Leeds Rhinos fan I also grew up surrounded by rugby league.

Will happily watch either league or union but can't for the life of me follow the rules of union. Maybe its my dumb northern brain struggling to cope with the complexities of all those rules..... Then again most professional players don't know all the rules for line outs, scrums, penalties etc in union so what hope has a supporter got of ever understanding them!

I used to play for Alan Old (brother of Chris_Old) so have to say Union.

I also have to say that England for the RWC in France is a good bet at 18s right now

I stump up for St Helens Don't go out of my way though.

I do have a soft spot for St's, but I'll still be cheering on the Catalans next weekend (if I can find a bar that's showing the Challenge Cup Final!?)

Got to be union for me Tez now that we've got Exeter Chiefs up in the big boy league although we have got Devon Sharks playing rugby league now did'nt exist in my day back in devon drinking scrumpy.

Leicester Tigers etc etc. When did the need for stupid motifs come in? Admittedly the All Blacks and Springboks have been with us for ever but adding this bollocks onto city and county teams is just, well, bollocks.

I was at Paddy's the other day returning a beaemer and St George was playing Manly on Sky sports.

needless to say, I send an email to my boss advising I was caught up and will be late back to work - I stayed for lunch at Paddy's on my own.

I also streamed the State of Origin (QLD Vs NSW) at my desk at work - This 3 game series is worthy viewing regardless of your choice of football code.

(....appart from the occassional girly diving antics, I actually quite liked the recent roundball world cup as well - much better game to watch in Europe)

Born and raised in St Helens and still reckon it's a great game to watch... (in the old days I honestly think at any objective level it was streets ahead of RU.. these days there's not much in it)

Lost touch with it a bit since I gave up on Sky.. but have watched a couple of games in Paddies and Pickwicks.. (just have to ask nice and hope there's nothing else on)
