Hi All,
Any idea where to watch RWC matches live in Zurich?
I understand that the English/Irish pubs would be the best bets, but am not sure because many matches kick-off around 10am, most likely outside regular opening hours.

At home, anywhere where the French channels (TF1 and France 2, both free-to-air) are included in the cable package.

Two places I am sure will be showing the game are The Oliver Twist Pickwicks in the Old Town on Rindermarkt (http://www.pickwick.ch/zuerich/sports.php), and Paddy Reillys on Talstrasse (http://www.paddys.ch/zuerich/index.php?page=1010). I'd expect the other English pubs will probably do the same.

When I last asked, the Twist said they would be opening early for all matches, but I would expect all the big matches they will be open early. I'll try Paddy Reilly for the NY v Tonga match on Thursday.

Could be some restrictions on licensing, so you might not be able to buy a beer...

A home-sick kiwi would probably feel most at home amongst the high density of antipodean twangs prevalent in the Oliver Twist.

I thought I'd quickly add to this.
there's a Swiss based company that streams ITV and all the other free view UK channels for free, ITV4 is on there with the live broadcasts. It has worked as a charm here in the office for me. And no, it's not a commercial, a colleague of mine knows the guys that started the thing up..
I use it on a MAC but PC should be fine too.
Just make sure to use the free version login, ITV/Rugby is part of the free channels..no need to pay..

Paddy Reilys are open for all the games being shown from 8am onwards. They are apparently not allowed to open before then. They have a nice breakfast menu for the games that's not over priced e.g. Scrambled eggs, bacon, toast + tea/coffee/orange juice for CHF9.

You can have a pint if you want, but at the game I was at I only saw one person drinking beer.

Great place to watch the games, imo. Only wish they would leave the sound on for the half-time analysis.
