Two sporting deaths this week

Two sporting legends tragically passed away this week. Graham Dilley, former England bowler and '81 Ashes hero lost his battle against cancer. Closer to home, Peter Jaks, Ambri-Piotta and Swiss hockey legend, seemingly took his own life in Italy, having disappeared from his home at the weekend.

RIP both. Some great memories.

Thanks for that (sad) news - I had no idea that Graham Dilley had passed away - it seems to have gone unnoticed which is sad.
Did read about Peter Jaks this morning though

Wow Dilley gone
News to me also. Very sad. Watched him in his pomp and boy he was quick. Far to quick for me (see avatar)

Unfortunately, both announcements seem to have been swept under the carpet by the worldwide outpouring of grief over the death of a middle-aged American industrialist.

I always remembered his outrageous delivery stride early in his career. My dear old Grandad was not amused; "He almost stops before he delivers!"

Peter Jaks was a little closer to home for me, in a way. I stayed with his brother (the former goalie, Pauli) whilst accompanying a friend who was a co-commentator for Radio Fribourg for HCFG games in Ticino.
