| Slammed! You have to give it to the Welsh, a stirling performance throughout 2012 6 Nations | |

Not so sure about that - Ireland game was close and England conspired to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Still, records will show Wales got the GS, and I've always said good teams make their own luck, so congrats.
If only France had won by 10, England's defeat of Ireland might have been a bit more interesting...
I've not seen a pack so dominated for a while - I felt both scrum time and lineout were massive (the latter in particular much improved over the 6N & last couple of matches). Shame we couldn't put over a few tries to match the forwards' dominance.
All that being said, TBH the result made we wonder if England are improving or not.
On paper, they are worse than last year when England won the 6N. But it is a young team, and much has been made about the lack of caps against all the other 6N teams. With this in mind they stood up well.
The flip side is that despite hammering the Irish forwards, the backs just didn't seem to get in the game. They showed more skill against Wales and, in particular, France, yet had more dominance up-front against the Irish. This makes me think that going forward they still don't have the ability to break down a good defence.
Was it just the weather & slippery conditions, which to be fair affected bother teams? Dunno... I'm curious to see what happens to Lancaster now.
But back to the scrums vs. Ireland and indeed Wales and France (where the "experts" expected England to have a torrid time). As a former loose head, made me glow...
Roll on the summer tours.
