England love a challenge.
And, more often than not, fail miserably to live up to it.

Thoroughly depressing.I'm glad I can't see it. Reading the paper write up is bad enough.

I don't think that is possible. England has already lost 2, I guess the best they can do is 3-2.
I'd have said 0-5 if that's what I meant, wouldn't I ...

And I expect if we do win 5-0, there'll be about as much of an over-the-top celebration, complete with open-topped buses and knighthoods, as there was last time we whitewashed England (seven years ago) -- viz., none.

I can tolerate losing, even losing the Ashes, but England's abject surrender makes my stomach turn
They are doing a good job of making this Austrailure side actually look decent.

Without Clark and Johnson they'd be nothing

Johnson is man of the moment but he has taken only 5 or maybe 6 of the 20 top-five wickets to have fallen so far

Re: Ashes 2013 on YouTube

Much as I loathe Shane Warne's comments, I have to agree with his assessment of Cook being an unimaginative Captain. I suspect this is also true in case of Andy Flower and the rest of the England support staff. They are clinical, methodical in their preparations but somehow don't have the flair or creativity needed to come out of their present 0-2 situation. Under-performing key personnel (Pietersen, Swann, Anderson, Cook) has made their job even more difficult. If England can draw any of the remaining matches it would be a great achievement under the circumstances.

There is some truth in what Warne is saying but he the champion sledger so best to take what he says in public with a pinch of salt

They should have a sledge-mic which we can listen to instead of Geoffrey boycott being a douche.

Would be much more entertaining.

You shut your dirty mouth - Boycott is the best thing about cricket.
A douche as a person, probably, but a god of cricket analysis.

Also has anyone had to sit through Botham's commentary on Sky recently, the man is a moron and Strauss is the human equivalent of a potato, boring and best left buried in the ground.

Is there a live radio coverage accessible over the internet? BBC 5 Live Sports and ABC Grandstand (usual broadcasters) come up empty

Whacked in Waca, Australia regain the Ashes. Then again it took them seven years to get the Urn back.

Well done Oz.

Re: Ashes 2013 on YouTube

I can live with Australia winning - congrats - but what really gets me is that it is so one-sided... Since the SA defeat, I get the impression that the belief has slowly been draining away from this England team, with too many great escapes/close calls (the Ashes in the UK an easy example to point to) to allow me to buy into some of the hype that was surrounding this team.

The only way it won't be 5-0 is if Australia take their foot off the pedal.

well done Oz, but England are lame and can barely be bothered to fight. The bowlers look exhausted.

Re: Ashes 2013 on YouTube

Aussies much better team this time around. England look mentally beaten but did you see the cracks in the Waca wicket? Worst I have ever seen. I think I would unravel on that pitch. As some one who once headed a bouncer off my helmet for six leg-byes (lol) I never looked forward to a pitch cracking up with a quickie on.

Re: Ashes 2013 on YouTube

I blame England's management, the warning signs were there in the flukey Summer Ashes victory. To allow England to be outplayed, outfoxed and outhungered in every department is a pure management failure.

anyway, rant over -> WELL DONE AUSSIES!
