But one year older

I think it is Old Man Time who caught up with him in the second half of the final set. He certainly seemed a winner earlier in the set.

This Wawrinka-Gasquet match is fantastic! Tied 9 games apiece in the 5th set.

It was an amazing duel between two singlehanded top backhands being played at incredible angles. It was tied match but somebody had to win in the end and Gasquet pulled it off.

It will be interesting though to see if Federer can finally succeed this year. He is getting closer and closer to another Grand Slam but he needs to go past Scotsman, then Nole or Gasket first

So far this tournament, Federer has made it look pretty easy. I think he's not lost serve once, whereas I think the other semi-finalists have each dropped at least one. Plus he's spent far less time on the court (about 100 minutes less, give or take a few) compared to the long matches the others have faced, so one would hope he's well-rested and better prepared? Fingers crossed!

He has, but only once. Against Simon, 2nd set, game 10.

My heart roots for Federer but the mind says Djoko. He's currently the Superman of Tennis!

He is indeed back ... the final should be a match to watch!

On another matter, Swiss tennis is not just about the men. Martina Hingis is back in the doubles final!

Re: Wimbledon 2013 [and 2014, 2015]

Federer played brilliantly against Murray yesterday, who played an excellent game too. However, Federer, kept up the pressure, and in the end he won through. I'm hoping he will do the same on Sunday, but Djokovic is also an extremely gifted player.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 [and 2014, 2015]

Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza have won the ladies doubles 5-7 7-6 7-5. Tomorrow she plays in the mixed doubles final while Roger plays in the men's singles final. If both win that would be THREE titles for Switzerland.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 [and 2014, 2015]

Well, Roger lost but Martina Hingis and Leander Paes won the mixed doubles by the rather boring score of 6-1 6-1.

Not bad for the geriatric set: Serena Williams and Martina Hingis are both (I believe, did not check) 34 and Roger (finalist if not winner) a few weeks from 34.

Re: Wimbledon 2013 [and 2014, 2015]

The English commentary was great. Along the lines of:
"Doesn't Leander know that reactions get slower as you get older?"
After chasing after a brilliant angled wide cross shot by either Hingis or Paes:
"Their opponents are discovering bits of the court they didn't know existed"
.

Oops, did not check Leander's age ... he is no spring chicken either (42).

Wimbledon 2016.
Apparently we'll see a final with Serena vs. Angelique Kerber. (Saturday at 15,00 o'clock)
Go Angelique, go!

Well done, Murray! A good day for Wimbledon.

He'll be an Englishman today, and not even a wee-bit Scottish

Some fans had a good day..
