Kloten Flyers vs. EV Zug - Saturday at 19:45 [Ice Hockey]

Canadian here looking to see what entertainment value Swiss League A provides. I come from Toronto where the Maple Leafs play so at this point it won't take too much to entertain hockey wise (for those not in the know the Leafs suck perpetually; for those in the know I feel your pain my brethren)

Would like to know if the people at the arena know English (I'm literally a day and a half into starting to learn German) and if there is any arena etiquette that I should be aware of. Also are games generally sell outs or can I pick up a ticket if I show up an hour before the game? The game is in Kloten (which makes it easy as its right by the Zurich Flughafen)

I'm commuting from Basel (train) so any tips on whether I should buy a day pass or just pay the to-from rate will be greatly appreciated.

Anyone attending this game? It's always nicer to heckle players on the ice in groups versus solo.

Look forward to any input any of you may have

To begin with, take the S-7 from Zch-HB (Landesmuseum-section in the Soussol, with a complete Smoking ban) to Kloten SBB and not one of the trains to the Airport . And get a return-ticket from home (Basel or wherever) to Kloten-SBB. This will alco include stops in Zch-downtown

I am sure that most visitors really do understand and speak some English, but YOU should speak clearly and loudly and abstain from colloquialism

As you are from Canada your expectations are possibly a bit high. Canadian Icehockey is a league up from what we have here. But there are many Canadians playing in Swiss Icehockey Clubs, So that it is not so bad afterall.

And both Kloten Flyers and EV Zug have a good Reputation

Enjoy the Event `!

Thanks for the news. We have just arrived yesterday and I am a great fan of ice hockey. I hope we can make it today.
