Hi everyone I'm relatively new to the Forum although have been benefitting from all the great advice that is offered since accepting an offer to come and work in Switzerland. Now I have been here in Zurich for nearly 4 weeks the one thing I am missing most is not playing football anymore. In the UK I played every Saturday. So does anyone know of any teams in the area who look for new players. Or of any social events that allow me to put my boots back on

All I can suggest is go to a local club!!! They have many teams in Zurich and also I see you are my age and can if you want play in the Seniors (over 32). I am currently playing for Wädenswil Football Club and next year hope to change teams. Where is it you live???

Thanks for the response. Just wondered if there were any fellow English players out here gracing the local leagues that might provide a way into a club. Not quite ready for "Vets" football just yet but will take a game anywhere once the Winter break is over.

Sorry to say about joing the vets league.. I mentioned the vets league as its very competitive and they play on Fridays. and train once a week, and if you work or have a family its a good idea.I am currently playing for Weadenswil which I think is a bit far for you to travel every Tuesday and Thursday and Sunday. I am playing for the 2nd team in Wadi which is not senior football, but normal league. but am looking to move to Zurich soon and will also be looking for a team to join. I will keep you posted as where I am going. Paul

Hi, I have been in Basel for two months now and I have not found a place to play football. I have tried emailing and calling the local teams and not gotten a single response. Does anyone know where to go and play in the basel region??

Footylist play once the clocks change... not long to go now! I'm itching to get back out there. I'm worried all this touch rugby may have impacted my amazing footy skills!
