"A company selling "Anyone but England" T-shirts for this year's World Cup has rejected suggestions it is racist after police in Aberdeen visited its store.... story continues"
Could you imagine the reaction if a reverse was done in another sport?

I think a t-shirt with Anyone But Togo and a picture of a bullet-riddled bus would have been worse.

I still have my "I am supporting Scotland (Jason Scotland)" t-shirt from the last world cup when england played trinidad and tobago.
As long as english commentators go on about '66, scots are gonna hope they dont win - i wouldnt be able to watch british tv anymore |

I remember at the Ashes series a dude sporting a T-shirt with "Go Australia and whoever plays England" on it.. got a few beer paid for by the Ozzies, but not much adversity...

frankly, I expect nothing less from our Jockish cousins from the north. And rightly so.
It's just a game and it's just banter.
The report also supports that plod on the street should have initiative removed.
Can you buy them online? |

(To the tune of "Lord of the Dance")
"Chelsea, wherever you may be,
Don't leave your wife with John Terry"
First uttered by Hull fans, I believe.

It's a shame there has been a stink kicked up about it - I'm English and find the T-shirt idea funny and a carte blanche to come up with something better as a retaliation (of the banter variety).

Just another example of the incredibly annoying PC world we now live in. As for chants, there was another one a few years ago when Graeme Rix (also Chelsea) was sentenced for having sex with a 15 yr old girl. The Manic Street Preachers: "If you tolerate Rix, then your children will be next"

It's a shame that other countries haven't developed the ability to laugh at themselves as the whole thing about the t-shirts would be a non-issue.

actually, I'm sure if asked that many skirt-wearing Scotch would say "Anyone But France" - if only for this World Cup. After that, it's back to hating the English as usual |

After beating France home and away in recent clashes, I think we're quite entitled to not even consider the french as a footballing nation. The Irish on the other hand...
