Kev's 2010 World Snooker Championship Thread
So it's time to visit the Crucible again.
My main reason to watch is seeing good old Steve Davis playing.
I don't watch every match.
Anyone else watch it and who do you support?
I'll be tuning in at 7pm (UK time) to see the Nugget
Enjoy

TBH, I'm fairly neutral these days. I still enjoy watching, but none of the new boys have enough presence to make me care about them.
I still like the old boys - Hendry, Davis, White, etc., but they're not going to win much any more (I'd like to be wrong). Edit: How could I forget Ronnie? Come on Ronnie!

Ronnie's fun to watch, no doubt. I like Higgins, all the old boys too. Don't really have a favorite and unfortunately never seem to be near the TV when it's on but did catch about two minutes of Ronnie vs. Wenbo today. I've watched a lot more snooker on Youtube than I ever have on TV .
Selby/Hendry ought to be a good watch and that's on Sunday-yeah! Now my wife will tell me we have plans that day
.

Steve ended last nights session at 5-4 down. Could have been worse.

Yes, Steve Davis is definitely an icon and great to watch playing. I just started watching Snooker about 5 or 6 years ago but I love the game. I think the real attraction for me is the fact that snooker is a real gentleman's sport.

It was more fun "back in the day" when Alex Higgins was about

..on a more serious note, at what angle do you place Mr. Jippy in front of the tv. Cleary, if you sit him straight he will probably look at the Spiderman collectible to the left as his neck is tilted akwardly. Just a thought.
By the way, is John Parrot still playing?

Back in the day you say...when men were men and pints of mild were the staple diet of any decent snooker player

J Parrot didn't make it to the 1st round this year. He may retire now.
Jango watches the TV not Mr J!!

Ditto..! It's so cool to watch how easily he plays both right and left handed (ambidextrous).

Love Alex Higgins. He was probably the reason I first got into snooker and he's a real legend.
BBC showed a clip of him playing in a tournament last week and he doesn't look long for this world. He looked so thin and ill.

Higging will be playing in a seniors tour later this year.
Davis and Taylor will play later this tournament to 25yrs since "the" final.
And, having a great birthday, drinking beer and seeing Steve play really well tonight.
9-8 up
