Somali militants have threatened football fans they will be publicly flogged - or worse - if they are caught watching the World Cup on TV.

"We are warning all the youth of Somalia not to dare watch these World Cup matches. It is a waste of money and time and they will not benefit anything or get any experience by watching mad men jumping up and down," he said.

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind when it comes to Liverpool fans.

I honestly believe that they are denied far more important rights on a regular basis und the rule of some religious extremist para-military. There is no functioning "state" in large parts of the country, pseudo religious warlords have absolute power... and as always
- does the "normal" population suffer heavily
- is the international society only watching as there is nothing to gain from the country.

I interpret it as unislamic according to a tiny tiny minority of gun-toting muslims. The thing about Islam, is that they don't have a pope or such like who defines what is and what isn't islamic. It all depends on the teaching of the Iman they choose to follow. Of course, there are some Muslims who'll say that anyone who doesn't agree with their interpretation is also not a Muslim.
