Re: 2007-2008 English football fixtures

I see Spurs are playing the Kaizer Chiefs in a friendly on 21st July...

The two sets of fans don't get on that well.

I predict a riot

Excellent. Looks like a great New Year's Day party for Bristol City - we thumped Coventry in the FA cup last year

(and 'borough were lucky to get past us!)

Re: 2007-2008 English football fixtures

As suspected, no details for the Conference! I do note however that both Blue Square and Coral have Exeter City at 8-1 to win the league this season, seems like very short odds as I reckon Oxford will walk it.

I would just like to say that today for all Arsenal supporters and fans of watching Theirry Henry play is a very sad day. Yes all Spurs fan you can now relax as one of the best players in the Premiership has left to go to Barca. But for 16m I think its taking the piss.

Re: 2007-2008 English football fixtures

Cheers for the memories Titi, you've done us proud. We didn't miss Vieira, Pires, Wiltord etc though (OK, maybe Pires a bit!) and with Van Persie, Adebayor, Walcott and Bendtner we are set in that department for years to come!

Come on you Gunners!

Re: 2007-2008 English football fixtures

Bendtner? Seriously? Henry's going to leave a big gap, I don't think any of those guys are ready to fill his shoes. And 16M is nothing for a player of his calibre.

Re: 2007-2008 English football fixtures

Even the staunchest Arsenal fan will tell you that TH was ineffective last year due to injury. He will be 30 in August and has been carrying a multitude of injuries for some time. He is still a class player for sure, but he is beginning to lose his lightning pace that made him stand out from the crowd.

I wish him all the best, but we wont feel his absence too keenly, it will be similar to last year, but all our youngsters will be a season older and hopefully we'll sign a winger to replace Alex Hleb, other than that, we'll be dead set.

Bendtner set the championship alight last season on loan at Brum, he's only 19, but he has a very bright future!

Last edited by StirB; 28.06.2007 at 10:56. Reason: Freudian slip perhaps, i wrote championshit instead of championship...totally accidental i assure you lower league fans.

Haha nice edit

Hm I'll keep my eyes open for the lad Bendtner then, all my transfer news is that The Grecians have managed to get Andy Marriott for goal this season - result!!

Re: 2007-2008 English football fixtures

Considering that Marcus Bent is going for 17, we sold TT for a pittance. Will we miss him? Sure. The EP will miss him. But we had kind of forgotten him last season, he never featured and was beginning to behave like a man in tights, prima donna with Barcelonaitus.

We survived the loss of Bergo, Vieira, Pires, Wiltord, Cashley and we'll survive the loss of TH.

So long as we don't lose Arsene, I'm sure that the youngsters we have will begin to shine. Give them another season or two.
