| | | Showing I have a message but I don't
Hello,
hope this is the right place for this question...my message counter at the top of the page has been showing that I have one message, for about three days, but I don't have any new messages....do I need to do something or has something gone wrong?
Thank you!

Perhaps it is a Friendship Request, not a normal PM ..

Been discussed not long ago - chance is you have a pending 'friend' request.

click on control panel, then check the left hand side and check "friends"
You've most probably have received a friend request (it appears as a pm, but it's not).
quick quick check it out.... somebody has probably been waiting for a while and doesn't understand why you haven't accepted.

Happened to me a few days ago. I accepted the request, and now what? What does it change/bring to have an 'accepted' friend on EF?

I must be the only person in our modern civilisation not to have a Facebook account... Somehow people openly asking to be friend with me reminds me of my days in kindergarten I quite like the attention though | | The following 4 users would like to thank Mélusine for this useful post: | |

Serious note: many teachers like me avoid Facebook like the pest. Others just create a kind of official Mr. Teacher's account. I can understand both ways.

Grrrr ... vBulletin is becoming a Facebook clone ... personal messages for the whole world to see, friends, all that crap
I have zero friends and intend to keep it that way.

| | | Private Message - Can't access
Hi! I've had private messages before and had no problem. However, I have a notification at the top that I have 1 new message, but when I look in my inbox, there are no unread messages shown. I have an email notification about it saying the title of the message and the user who sent it, but I have no unread messages from that user. Any ideas what might be up?
Thanks!

It's probably a Visitor Message, accessible from your control panel.
