A swift apology and immediate cessation or a ban .
Sad thing is, if posted properly I'm sure lots of people would have given their support to the event.

Re: Please Do Something About The Laundry Man........

I am going to make a rare foray into supporting a cause from you braying dogs, in that:

a) he has a series of events with different acts, so posting a recurring event is not appropriate.

b) he has been on the forum a while and endured our ribbing/complaints etc

c) the last show I went to was good and a worthy addition to the Zürich social scene.

I am not affiliated...blah blah....

It would have been better to have posted the events individually over a period of time though, so you can raise awareness more than just once.

Quite right, in fact this one thread has had more viewers than all of his spams combined

On reflection, an assumed apology, presumed cessation and mild tap on the shoulder with an obliging wet fish will suffice .

Re: Please Do Something About The Laundry Man........

I have been in touch with The Laundry Man suggesting that he come here to read this post & maybe post his adverts a little differently in the future. Technically he has not broken any rules.

Re: Please Do Something About The Laundry Man........

I know I'm a bit late onto this thread, but I just wanted to make a statement for the record.

The Laundry Man has done nothing wrong in this case. He is posting within the guidelines of the forum. I suggested to him some time ago that each of his comedy events, since they are stand-alone evenings with different comedians each time, should be posted as separate events in the commercial calendar.

As others have already pointed out, this makes far more sense than creating a single, recurring event, and these comedy nights are generally of interest to the expat community.

His only "crime" in this case is posting all of his events within a short period of time. For those who live on the "new posts" button this may have been mildly annoying for a period of around 10 minutes, but I can imagine that he is posting his events in various parts of the internet, and probably doesn't want to return each week to remember to post each new one. Therefore to post the whole schedule in one hit would seem like a reasonable thing to do, at least in my opinion.

To talk about banning this member, when no rules or guidelines have been breached, is not really the right approach.

I agree with your comments.

To be fair, my first post was qualified, if harsh, but based on a misunderstanding and impression of what was happening that was shared by a number of people who had posted in this thread and in response to the adverts themselves. It was also swiftly adjusted to a more moderate stance.

Since this happened, I've stopped using the Home Page to access the forums when in a hurry. However, I have seen people signed up as new members repeatedly posting spam so it covers the Home Page - this appeared to be such an incident, which clearly it was not. Perhaps this is something to consider if a redesign of the Home Page is carried out in the future; just a thought.

For the record on my part, sorry Laundry Man .
