ok..
my first question "will T&A be resent" was answered already
( the answer was no. )
second question..
if you take the cyanide pill ( delete account ) is there any chance of return , or will creation of a new account lead to mod. deletion?

OK. Since everyone else is too f--king lazy to do it. Here's a thread for your questions. If I make it to the event, I'll try to ask them directly too.

Paul, if I understand your terms of use correctly, and using the example of a couple of threads up at the moment, are you saying that if a member posts a message concerning some form of crime or abuse, that you will report this matter to the police? can that member then expect a visit from the local police force and be questioned about the veracity of their comments?

Paul - Several members have expressed concern over the lack of communication from the Local and Editor Bob regarding the future of Englishforum and the direction which it will take. Day to day running of Englishforum can be very difficult for the moderation team without this communication.
Could you please give us assurances that this will be taken seriously in future and additionally any guidance/administration task will be taken affectively involving the members of Englishforum, before actions are carried out?
I have personal concerns over what I see as "zero admin footprint"

Things weren't helped by Mod responses to the T&C questions. They hadn't been informed either and it looked as though they'd been left to sweep up a mess they hadn't made.
Is there (or will there be) a clear mechanism for the mods to communicate with you and Editor Bob to get official answers to questions rather than having to fend for themselves?

Could you cancel your trip so that this dies down like it was before you announced your blasted trip?

Then you return with a new account which now means you accept the Terms of Use and circumvent your own self ban. [Policy] Multiple usernames, changing usernames
Why go through all that if you accept them anyway..?

There had been several conflicting answers in previous days as to that. So thank you for that one answer.... but to further confirm... are you speaking for Paul?

Do the T&Cs apply only to those using the site and making posts after 27th October?
How is a user who made posts before but is no longer using the site, in Switzerland, whatever, affected by the new T&Cs?
I can see how some members might want to use that date as a cut-off and join in agreement with the new T&Cs waving a new flag. What harm is it if they accept the T&Cs in their own way rather than the way the admin team seems to be interpreting it?
Are you giving direction and guidance to the admin team? Is Editor Bob?

If one doesn't agree to the T&C and quits the forum, because they don't want their posts to be retained and the information in them to become property of The Local, will their posting history be forever more deleted from the EF servers and archives?

Currently there is a Mod ruling held. The precedent set before was of 2 or more accounts present on the forum. The situation so far is the user is deleted, therefore no multiple accounts are present.

Do you mean this bit?
"THE LOCAL reserves the right to inspect and take appropriate legal action against anyone who infringes this prohibition, including but is not limited to, removing the offending material or content from the Services, terminating the membership of the violator and reporting to the appropriate law enforcement authorities."
That does not mean that if someone posts about a crime - either as a comment on a crime, or, say, asking for advice as they believe they are the victim of the crime - then we report it to the police.
It means that if a post comes to our attention which in itself breaks the law (incitement to racial hatred, for example), then we reserve the right to report it to the police.
