Ad links to random words in posts

I have recently noticed that when browsing the EF site while not logged in, I periodically come across posts which have certain word(s) highlighted in blue and double underlined (as opposed to single underlining of links that the poster has intentionally put into their post). These links do not even require a click; a mere mouse-over results in a pop-up ad and sometimes even triggers an automatic video play . In my (recent-only) experience, the pop-up box always shows "Kontera" at the top left.

Anyone else notice this phenomenon? Are my personal settings to blame?

Or is this just part of the deal with our new proprietors? Did I miss something in the T&C's about this type of advertising?

How irritating to find that the word "child" in my post has an auto-link to a diaper company's website; I suppose I should be happy that it is not a porn website .

In the case that I first noticed the aforementioned link, I had first responded to a post then logged out; I was about to leave the house and just looked quickly to see if any responses/questions, etc. regarding my reply had come up that I would want to further respond to before I left.

That would be a fail for online advertising.

They need us more than we need them

Of the 38 million registered EF users on 8 post regularly - or something like that - imagine if Sir Postalolcat left - advertising revenues would dip dramatically**
